Minnesota-bound!

Today we began our journey home to Minnesota where we will begin the final stage of our multi-year odyssey to build an energy-efficiency, locally-sourced, green home on the shore of Olson Lake in Lake Elmo, Minnesota! We are going for LEED and GreenStar Minnesota certifications.

Things have taken much longer than we anticipated--I guess everybody's warnings were right! While we've already moved out of our home in Grand Rapids, Michigan, said goodbye to friends, and packed up the cats for an extended kitty vacation, we have yet to begin construction on our new home. We'll be moving in with Tom's parents in White Bear Lake during demolition and construction, which should begin this fall. (Knock on wood.) At least we're just in time for the State Fair!
